Exercise should not cost a fortune

We recognize that there are real barriers to people getting more active, such as cost, accessibility and transportation issues. We support and promote activities which are affordable and accessible, like community runs/walks and family-oriented events. Together as a community, we can forge a healthier and more sustainable way of life in the Comox Valley.

We respectfully acknowledge that we live, play and work within the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation and our area contains many cultural and natural values meaningful to generations of K’ómoks families.

Healthy communities are active communities where everyone has access to parks and recreation opportunities that support physical activity. We know that regular physical activity protects against chronic disease, increases mental health and well-being, and reduces loneliness, isolation, and alienation.

Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have.
